2007-12-18 - Apologies: Slow Server

Hello,

you will no doubt have noticed that the game is running slowly at times over the last day or so.

This is being caused by essential software upgrades on the server using up resources whilst they run/compile/install etc.

Unfortunately it is not always possible for these events to occur during quiet times on the game (especially as its 24x7 here), although we do try to make sure that they normally minimise impact on the game.

Please accept our apologies for this period, and rest assured that normal service will be restored as soon as possible.

In the mean time, police can now not attack you during long ticks providing the tick itself has not completed just before the police shoot, so you should be safer in space during long ticks.
