2007-11-13 - Slow server

Hello there,

there seem to be a couple of issues with the backend of the game on the server. They've come to light as I was updating a few things to get the latest new feature finished off, and manifest most obviously as a slow tick update as its the db that's slowed right down and the tick make heavy usage of it.

Its not immediately clear what's causing the issue, so I think I need to leave this to Andy to fix rather than me poking my inexperienced fingers into the inner workings of the sql daemon, which is only going to make things worse.

its done ithis and sorted itself out a couple of times this week, already, but recovered after a while on its own, so fingers crossed.

if not then the boss will fix it in the morning.
