Navy and Criminal Rank reward ships are now equipped with the Enhanced Capsule Escape system. If you have one of those and get shot down, you can now get back to Navy HQ / Refuge significantly faster, and with more of your cargo if you decide to scoop some back up.

In related news, the planet R Leonis 7 in Tau Ceti recently passed through a gravitational anomaly which has caused its orbital speed to slow down and doubled the length of its year. No other planets are predicted to pass through this region of space, so will remain unaffected.
